Welcome to Loretta's, an enchanting café nestled in the heart of Head House Square, Philadelphia. The moment you step inside this adorable establishment, you're greeted by a warm ambiance and vibrant energy that livens up your day. Known for its stellar coffee and exquisite pastries, Loretta's is not just a café, but a charming retreat that promises a delightful culinary experience.

The highlight of Loretta's is undoubtedly its exceptional coffee, crafted using Rival Bros coffee beans. Customers rave about the expertly made espresso — it’s a joyful symphony of flavors that resonates with coffee enthusiasts. Warholnyc, a visitor from Seattle—a city famous for its coffee scene—proclaimed that Loretta's gets the espresso just right, showcasing the baristas’ skills and dedication. And if you’re curious about the sweet side of the café, take a moment to bask in their luscious selection of pastries.

Pastries here are not merely a treat; they are works of art. Imagine indulging in the famous Cosmic Brownie, praised by visitors like Anna B., whose culinary curiosity is piqued by its rich chocolatey goodness. Or perhaps you'd prefer the delightful chocolate drop, noted by Ariana Lucidonio for its flaky crust that sings harmoniously with the chocolate filling. Each bite is a testament to the classic café fare that Loretta's elevates to new heights.

If you're visiting on a Sunday, don't miss out on their celebrated doughnuts—a must-try according to loyal patron Zoe Tanner. Sweetened with house-made salted maple syrup, they create a unique blend of flavors that captures the heart of any sweet tooth. And while you’re there, make sure to sip on their refreshing orangeade, a perfect accompaniment to the festive atmosphere of this beloved neighborhood spot.

Though some patrons, like Lauren Burrell Fisher, mention that Loretta's prices can lean towards the upscale, many agree that the quality of their offerings makes every penny spent worthwhile. The freshness and creativity of their menu, combined with the inviting smiles of the staff, create an unforgettable café experience that keeps customers coming back. Miled beautifully captures this essence, describing the lively energy at the register as part of what makes Loretta's so special.

In a world where cafés can blend into the background, Loretta's shines brightly as a local gem. Whether you’re grabbing your morning coffee or looking for a cozy spot to unwind with friends, this café serves as a perfect local retreat. Join the community of satisfied customers who have found not only their go-to coffee shop but also a beloved gathering place in Philadelphia. When you visit Loretta's, you're not just tasting coffee and pastries; you're savoring a piece of local culture!

Having lived in Seattle for the past 25 years, I know what a good cup of espresso should taste like....and Loretta's has just the right chemistry. Like many other cafes in the City, they use the Rival brand of beans, and the baristas can make the espresso right every time. It helps that the staff are always welcoming me by name and have the cutest little cafe on Head House Square. Their pastries and sandwiches are much beloved by all the patrons. There is limited seating inside, but plenty of outdoor seating in a very tranquil and historically beautiful environment. It's my "Cheers," they never forget my name. Check it out! Loretta's is the perfect way to start your day!

Stopped in Loretta’s to try an adult Cosmic Brownie! I saw it online and knew I had to try it. I also ended up getting a chocolate drop too. The brownie was good, not amazing. I’ve had better elsewhere. The chocolate drop though, that was outstanding. The flaky crust and filling paired perfectly. I did find their prices to be a bit high. I still may come back to try more pastries in the future!

Adorable cafe located in head house square! Tons of coffee options but the pastries are hard to beat! A little on the expensive side, but it was tough to pick only a few. Definitely a great neighborhood addition!

I absolutely love Loretta’s. The window displays are adorable. Pastries are extremely well done. Must try the doughnuts on sundays! Serving up rival bros coffee with a house made salted maple syrup. In love

The lady at the register was wild and I loved it. The pastries (pig in a blanket and cosmic brownie) were delicious and the orange-ade was as refreshing as the whole experience. 10/10z

If you’re looking for the perfect neighborhood cafe - Loretta’s is it. My coffee and many food items tried are always great, but it’s the energy and vibes of everyone inside that really make the place! A can’t miss if you’re hitting up the headhouse farmers market on Sunday morning (but worth it to get over there every other day too)

I love it here! The coffee is delicious (they have house made syrups) and both the food and pastries are fresh and worth every penny! Hayley was working and was helpful and knowledgeable when helping decide what to get! I'll definitely be back :)

I usually don’t like sweets, but I find myself constantly thinking about their cosmic brownie. The spicy bacon egg and pimento cheese sandwich is the cure for any hangover!!
